CNC Machine Operator

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR

Task Force Tips, Inc., a worldwide leader in firefighting equipment manufacturing, is seeking a full-time CNC Machine Operator.  Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift with weekends off.

  • Position entails operating CNC machines and ensuring parts comply with specifications and quality standards.
  • Reads, interprets and makes practical application of blueprints, including determining which tool makes each cut on parts.
  • Reads and interprets measurements of parts using various precision instruments, including calipers, micrometers and gauges.
  • Loads/unloads parts and bar feeder on CNC machine, including unlocking, opening, loading, feeding, closing, relocking and starting machine.
  • A minimum of one-year experience, education and/or training in a machine shop or industrial production setting is preferred.
  • Duties involve close vision, hearing, standing/walking for long periods, light to moderate lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects.

Mechanical Aptitude testing will be given.  Only candidates with prior machining experience will be considered.

Task Force Tips, Inc., a worldwide leader in firefighting equipment manufacturing, is seeking a full time Facilities Mechanic in our Maintenance Department. Tests will be given.

Applicants MUST have working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of mechanical trades, including electrical/electronics, motors and motor controls; PLC, electrical components, electrical properties (120-480 volt AC), plumbing, and machine mechanics. Working knowledge of and ability to physically and safely operate various hand/power tools, such as screw drivers, pliers, wrenches, cutters, power drills and saws, and production equipment/machines such as man lift and forklift.

Working knowledge of and ability to make practical application of OSHA and company safety procedures and precautions. This position regularly inspects facility and equipment for proper operation, including trouble shooting, scheduling timely repairs/replacement, and coordinating with production schedule to eliminate/reduce down time.

Performs preventative and scheduled maintenance on facility and company electrical equipment, such as calibrating and aligning sensors; repairs equipment as needed, including electrical, hydraulics, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. Assists in building / fabricating equipment as needed.

Prepares for and installs new equipment, including electrical/electronic circuits, running conduit for new connections, rewiring existing connections to conform to new equipment.

Finisher

Finisher

Task Force Tips, Inc., a worldwide leader in firefighting equipment manufacturing, is seeking a full-time Finisher for our Anodizing Department.  Shift is Tues-Fri – 7:00AM-5:30 PM.

  • Responsible for applying finishes to component parts used in our products, and operating the finishing line equipment in the department.
  • Racks and un-racks component parts.
  • Runs parts according to the print and “recipe” specific to each part.
  • Measures coating thickness.
  • Keeps production equipment and work zone clean and orderly.
  • Assists in the routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Measures and records waste water quality.
  • Measures and records concentration levels in various tanks.
  • Disposes of waste material, if any.

Experience in metal finishing, plating, or anodizing processing is highly desired but not required.

Duties involve close vision, hearing, standing/walking for long periods, light to moderate lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling objects, crouching, bending, grasping and fingering objects, but physical effort is not extreme for prolonged periods.

Performs majority of duties in an indoor environment and metal finishing / processing / electroplating type manufacturing setting and is exposed to noise, heavy machinery and being near chemicals.  Safety precautions must be followed at all times to avoid injury to self and others.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer. Minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics is required. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for working on engineering design problems and designing/redesigning parts and products. In order to be considered further, you must meet the minimum qualifications for the position as listed below: "Sponsorship is not available"

Requirements:

  • BS (MS Preferred) in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology/Mechatronics
  • 5+ years in Mechanical design and new product development
  • Electromechanical, High Pressure Hydraulic Valve and Pump Design
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling Software (Solidworks Preferred)
  • FEA software experience (ANSYS Preferred).

Preferred experience:

  • Previous experience designing battery and/or hydraulic powered tools
  • Robotics Design
  • Regulatory Testing and Certification Experience
  • Design of Experiments and Testing experience
  • Stage-Gate New Product Development Experience

The ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the position are as follows: Designs new products, design modifications, and related methods for manufacture, assembly, and testing of products according to company policy, procedures, and work instructions. Documents various design activities according to company policy, procedures and work instructions. Utilizes computerized design software to create new products and design modifications. Analyzes concepts of new product designs, including judging feasibility for manufacture, assembly, function and reliability. Directs/monitors and records testing of new concepts, including determining appropriate tests, developing specifications, overseeing manufacture of test pieces, assembling and running tests. Assimilates test data and modifies designs as necessary. Collaborates with Production, Quality and Assembly Department personnel to solve manufacturing, and assembly problems. Provides training regarding assembly instructions for new products as needed. Redesigns and makes minor changes in existing parts to improve production, performance, and/or assembly as assigned. Recommends design changes to meet new market requests. Responds to customer inquiries regarding technical issues and problems. Provides technical support to TFT sales staff and their key customers for new applications and new products through training, installation, trouble shooting, service, and repair phases. Support may include travel to customer sites. Performs item file work and related status reports on computer as assigned, such as adding new items and bills of materials, editing existing items. Organizes and updates prints and distributes revisions to appropriate shop personnel. Drafts and proofreads technical product documentation as assigned, such as product manuals, assembly instructions, test instructions, graphs, charts. Locates and acquires purchased parts and materials for new projects. Travels to vendor sites to evaluate performance of company products and solve problems as needed. Periodically attends and participates in trade shows. Develops design skills from exposure to design engineers, senior design engineers, and outside sources as assigned.
